This post was inspired from titanic.

A while ago, I was watching titanic - it's been 100 years since it sinks. I can say I'm fond of titanic - not just the movie but almost everything about it (who are the survivors,what happen to them, how did it sink etc.) Then a question strike me what happened to the worker "behind the scene" specially those fireman working in steamy hot engine of the ship. I did a some research and a number of them survived but most of them didn't. From wikipedia it stated there that

All 25 engineers as well as the 10 electricians and boilermakers were lost for most (if not all) of them remained below decks in the engine and boiler rooms fighting a losing battle to keep the ship afloat by operating the pumps in the forward compartments as well as keeping the steam up in the boiler rooms and kept the generators running to maintain power and lights throughout the Titanic up until two minutes before the ship sank. It is speculated that their actions delayed the sinking for over an hour and helped keep the ship afloat for nearly all the lifeboats to be launched

Now I'm wondering what are they thinking when they are fighting that losing battle. Are they thinking about their family? children? mother? father? dreams? ambition? Praying to God to make a miracle(I am not saying God can't because He can if He pleases) Thinking about this makes my eyes teary. Yet they still persevere even though they know they are going to die soon - they think of the passengers. I am being very emotional right now. Thousand's of innocent lives were lost. I'm lost of words.
